Laser Therapy

Therapeutic laser treatments are now being used for advanced pain relief and enhanced tissue healing in animals especially dogs and cats. It is a complementary healing modality to drug therapy and surgery; in some cases an alternative solution.

Laser therapy can be used immediately on acute injuries, over broken skin and over metal implants. Laser therapy enhances the rate and quality of healing of acute injuries, and can help with the resolution of chronic complaints such as arthritis.  At Always Compassionate Veterinary Care, we have been treating:  Lick Granulomas, Stomatitis, Acute and Chronic Intervertebral disc disease, Tendonitis, Arthritis, Post-surgical incisions and Hot Spots, just to name a few.

With laser therapy, there is no patient sedation or restraint required and the experience is usually pleasant and comforting to the patient. While improvement is often seen after the first visit, most patients need several treatments for the greatest benefit.  Each treatment is cumulative and results are frequently felt after three or four treatments.  The number of treatments needed depends on the nature of the condition.  For some acute conditions one or two treatments may be enough, but more chronic conditions may require five to eight treatments and some conditions may require ongoing periodic care to control the pain.
